This Wine: The first vintage from Peltier Ravineau! Really exciting to try something from young winemakers in Cheverny as we are such huge fans of the likes of Villemade and Clos due Tue Boeuf who are also located in the same village.
Natural white wine with a medium body and fresh acidity. All the classic notes of Sauvignon Blanc are present but presented in a more refined way with subtle tropical (mango) and notes supported by a mineral character maybe provided by the Menu Pineau. Great balance and a pleasing texture. What a bargain.
Notes on the Winemaker: Arthur Peltier and Achille Ravineau are young winemakers situated close to Cheverny in Touraine. This is a natural wine hot spot in the Loire that was put on the map by the likes of Thierry Puzelat / Clos du Tue-Boeuf and Hervé Villemade, both of which provided training and guidance to Arthur and Achille. Now they are making affordable, expressive wines with a focus on local grape varieties including the rare Menu Pineau. One to watch!
